More Seattle Style from Sassafras Boutique

The last few weeks in downtown Seattle have been unseasonably sunny, but they’ve also been unseasonably cold! Personally, I love it. I don’t have to worry about the rain and it gives me an excuse to layer.

Yesterday I introduced you to this Lysle Style dress from Sassafras by pairing it with knee-high boots and opaque tights. While that combination keeps out the chill pretty well, skinny jeans and booties keep me even warmer.

During my annual visit to Stratford, Ontario this past fall, I popped in to my favorite boutique there, Dana Nichole. These Paige skinny jeans practically had my name on them and now I wear them all the time.

I bought the Vince booties during the last Anniversary Sale at Nordstrom. There’s a similar pair available here.

Need to go warmer?
How about a rebel-hot moto jacket?

Had I paid more attention the last time I visited Sassafras, I would have saved myself some money and gotten a wicked cool, locally made jacket by La Macón. Instead, I paid about twice the price for my Rag and Bone jacket at Nordstrom. It is cool and I do wear it all the time, but I can’t help but feel a little buyer’s remorse as I look at Shari Noble’s La Macón “Cat” jacket.

There is simply no argument:
This Jacket Rocks.
Just look at that removable hood and that pink lining!

Fortunately for you, this jacket is available through either Sassafras’ online shop or on Maison La Macón’s site. And, of course, Sassafras carries La Macón merchandise in-store as well.

Tomorrow!

I’ve got one more outfit idea up my sleeve–pun intended. It’s a simple addition to this dress but it adds another layer of warmth we all need about now. Check back tomorrow for more!

  1. […] I bragged about the sunny weather we’ve been seeing in Seattle recently, the clouds rolled in with a boastfulness of their […]

  2. I really like your dress with the skinny jeans. Such a great look! I own a pair of Paige jeans, and I love them. And I also love your moto jacket! The La Macón’s one is very nice, too, but I feel yours is a bit more of a classic.

  3. So I’ve never been a huge jeans snob…but maybe I’m really missing out??? Tell me why you love these jeans so much. I really only have 2 pairs of blue jeans and one is flare and one is skinnyish (i’ve lost a little weight so they aren’t super tight). There’s no way in the world, that I NEED anything in my closet, but I wouldn’t mind keeping an eye out for another pair of fabulous jeans!!
I do love this dress with the jacket over top!!
I can’t wait to see you other styling with it!!

    1. I don’t know if you’re missing out, really, Jodie. My feeling is that if you find a pair of jeans that make you feel like a million bucks, get ’em! I became a fan of Paige’s “Verduro” jeans (I think that’s the name) last year when I bought the dark blue version. When I came across the gray version I had to have them. They are true skinny jeans with flexibility built in but not so much flexibility that they lose their shape after a couple hours’ wear. I’ve had NYDJ jeans that start out tight on me and then end up looking saggy. Not these!

Like I said, though, I don’t think it’s the brand or price so much as the fit. For me, these fit my body in a way that I like.

Oh, and since I’ve been blogging, I’ve gotten away from wearing jeans all the time. I grab these when I want to wear jeans because they are comfy–but these days I prefer dresses. Can you believe I just said that??? 🙂

I hope all is well with you!

      Hugs,
      Sherry

      1. Ahhh…that statement about dresses made me smile and laugh, Sherry!!
        Wonders will never cease, right?
        XOXO

        1. Right!! 🙂

Who doesn’t love jeans and a black leather jacket? ?? I actually like yours much better than that La Macon one you featured . I think it’s interesting that the biker jacket style has become so popular . I like the edgy feel they give to an outfit and that they seem to be complimented by so many boot styles!
Your dress turned tunic looks great as you’ve styled it Sherry!

    1. I like the edgy feel of a biker jackets too and, as you said, they go with so many boot styles. I’m also going to feature this jacket in a few weeks with high-top sneakers!

Thanks for your continued support and kind comments, Jude! (Do you prefer Marilee or Jude?)

      Hugs,
      Sherry
